The CO2 globe
The atmospheric layer shows modelled column-mean CO2 forecasts from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), operated by ECMWF. Values are in parts per million. They are not site-level measurements of emissions or proof of project removals. The displayed valid time and forecast lead identify the model frame.
Satellites and images
Copernicus Sentinel-1 radar and Sentinel-2 optical observations support land monitoring. Orbit positions are calculated from refreshed orbital elements, not a live telemetry feed. Scene images are published acquisitions with dates and locations, not live video.
Carbon removal claims
Project scenarios and projections remain distinct from achieved, independently verified net removal. Biomass, lifecycle emissions, end use and storage durability need supporting evidence. A project marker or green satellite image does not establish certified removal.
Human review
