Access and security

Staff access uses Google authentication. Invited reviewers enter an email address and invitation code. The entered email and sign-in time are logged for access monitoring; the email is self-declared, not independently verified. A necessary secure session cookie supports reviewer access for up to eight hours, limited by invitation expiry.

Questions and location

Questions submitted to Ask Tao Carbon Brain are processed using Google Gemini and search services to produce answers and source links. Do not include confidential or sensitive personal information. Voice input depends on your browser and may use its speech service. Location is requested only when you choose the location feature and grant browser permission. Saved places may be retained in your browser.

Why and how information is used

We use access and operational information to provide and secure the platform, investigate faults and respond to enquiries, relying on our legitimate interests in operating the service. Google Cloud provides hosting and processing services. Data handling and international transfers depend on the relevant service arrangements.

Operational records are subject to configured service retention and any necessary security or legal retention. Contact us for the retention applicable to your records or to request deletion. We do not promise a fixed deletion period here.

Your choices

You can request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your personal information, and object where applicable. You may complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission. Newsletter and merchandise links take you to separate services with their own notices. Visiting this platform does not subscribe you to marketing.
